Activities – Gorilla Heights Lodge

Guests can also do a forest nature walk for 2 to 3 hours. The most famous one is the Full Day Ivy River Trail, where you start at Nkuringo to Buhoma, with the climax of Munyanga River Trail, there is a large variety of Flora and Fauna on this route.

Boat Tours

Canoeing can be done either on Lake Mulehe or Lake Mutanda.
Lake Mutanda boat takes approximately 2 hours. Lake Mulehe boat takes approximately 2 hours and 6 hours with a hike. Both lakes are approximately an hour’s drive from Gorilla Heights. The beauty and birdlife are abundant in this area.

Gorilla Trekking

The best time to go gorilla trekking is during June, July, August, September and December due to less rain, making hiking easier. Trekking in this area can be quite arduous. For more accessible trekking, guests can go to the Rushaga sector, a 45-minute drive from the lodge.
